Motorbiking
"Biker" for me usually means motorbiking, though I also have a couple of mountain-bikes... see Trail Bike
My current motorbikes are a Honda CBR600RR ABS 2017 and a Kawasaki Ninja Z250SL.
Previously I have owned: Kawasaki ZX4-RR (Ninja anniversary edition), Honda CRF300 Rally, Honda CBR600RR 2005, Honda CBR600FW, Honda VF750F, Yamaha FJ600, Suzuki GSX750EX, Yamaha FJ750, Yamaha XJ900, Kawasaki Z750 and I passed my riding test on my Kawasaki KH250.

Castlerigg Stone Circle
Midwinter ride. Last week’s frost is replaced by classy rainbows with a gale-force wind driving the Cumbrian mist at you like an automatic car wash. I couldn’t find a Christmas tree (pagan Saturnalia symbol) to pose near so making do with a Neolithic stone circle. But a satisfying workout wrangling my CRF-300 over the remaining packed ice and muddy washout, stuff this bike rides well. TG-6 waterproof camera.

Christmas tree on the promenade at Bandol on the French Riviera with my CBR600RR. But chilly.
Festive End of Year lunch in the historic centre of Aix-en-Provence. Nearly twenty AMA bikers fighting the gridlock and a bitterly cold Mistral to meet and to enjoy choices from the full menu of this restaurant. Of various entertainments outside under the hundred-year-old Plantane trees, Santa’s rock brass band caught my attention.
That was followed by a brilliant Marseille sunrise with a vicious. glacial Mistral. To my eye this was indigo and violet against orange. I have seen snow here but this is about as cold as Marseille gets, just +2°C at dawn.
Learn it in Third then ride it like you mean it. The Col du Pas d’Oulier is 4 km up and 4km down.The route is graded well, with a good surface and easy turnaround at either end, so ideal for a bit of winter skills practice. Between Roquefort-la-Bédoule and La Ciotat, just outside Marseille.
Nearly ninety GBMCC members sitting down to Xmas lunch in a restaurant with great views of the River Thames. A fine afternoon’s affirmation of being a biker. There’s a huge variety of bikers in our club: face tattoos to financiers and ages 21 to 66 at least.
Lots of talk about next year’s GLME Summercamp at Lampeter, Wales, which is being organised by GBMCC, also plans for club runs and meets in 2023.
Good to see our club in rude health with new members and familiar faces from the London area and further afield.

Alps Biker 2016
I'm riding light for a week on the mountain roads of the Alps. No laptop, although I do have my SLR camera but photos will have to wait till I'm back in Marseille..
I left Marseille for a long ride north via the Col de la Croix Haute (1179 m.) to Saint-Gervais under Mont Blanc. A bit of rain towards the end of the day which cleaned the Provence dust off my white leathers and boots but didn't soak me through.
