Free practice on the Col de la Gineste (326 m.), which runs around the Calanques between Marseille and Cassis. Some interesting curves on the Marseille side whilst the descent to Cassis is much more open, an opportunity to collect the first insects on my new visor.
Fine afternoon sunshine allowed me a number of runs in each direction, doing a couple of drills: focus on line, focus on braking etc. Several other bikes also with an R in their model name also doing multiple runs.
Return through Marseille with a pause at the massive new Vélodrome stadium, home of OM, the football team Olympique de Marseille.
At the far end of the Gineste from Marseille, where you turn, there’s a fine view of Cap Canaille towering over Cassis, known as the highest cliffs over water in mainland France.
