Ride round the renowned triangle of Moffat, Peebles and Selkirk in the Scottish Borders: A701, A72 and A708. One of the routes I had in mind when I ordered the ZX4-RR. Well worth the ride up from Cumbria; the biker gets a bit of everything on this route: open moorland, twisty lanes and couple of hairpins on the Devil’s Beef Tub up from Moffat. Biker meet points at Moffat and Loch of the Lowes though I enjoyed a pie, drink and Millionaire Shortbread Slice as a Meal Deal in the park on the bank of the River Tweed in Peebles.
I would have preferred to stay locally so as to enjoy the route without the slog to and from Keswick as a day trip, however hotel booking conditions and unreliable weather forecasts conspired against, at least for now.
Many thanks to Laura for the pictures of me on the road.
