The French celebrate « La Chandeleur », the pagan festival of the end of winter, with a feast of pancakes. The Anglicans call this day Candlemas and light candles at midnight for purification. Pierre and Pascal treated members of AMA Provence to a feast of crêpes, there were rounds with meat, cheese, bananas flambé’d in rum, lemon and cheese.
The preceding bike tour in the morning was a bit grey but the Mediterranean sun came out for us to enjoy coffee on the terrace of their new home in Carry-le-Rouet, a little town on the Côte Bleu to the east of Marseille.
Un grand « merci » à Pascal et Pierre pour leur bienvenu.
