I’m John and I’m based in Hammersmith, West London.
I ride a red CBR600RR and a tangerine/grey CBR600FW. Not quite Kamikaze style but they're a sports bikes and fuel economy is not a priority! I don’t often get passed on Euston Road or any reasonable road. Riding a real motorbike on real roads beats any computer game or simulation and you only have one life. Seeking the line through traffic or on the open road is just great fun.
August 2005: GLME Bike Camp at Limeuil, France
August 2004: GLME Bike Camp at Pomerance, Italy
May 2004: A great ride over some cols of the French Alps with AMA
September 2003: Five-day European bike ride to the Vercors (SE France).
May 2003: celebrated twenty-five years safe biking with a bike run with mates to the West Country including Devon's Black Cat run route and some splendid biking on Exmoor, Dartmoor and the North Devon and North Cornwall Coast: I’ve held a full UK motorbike licence since 1978 and been riding safely since 1977.
Ride the bike all weathers with the right gear although no longer so keen on cold wet winter night riding or ice and snow. Belgian autoroutes in torrential rain have also lost their appeal!
Am a member of GBMCC and the French club AMA whose local roads are the mountains of the Alps and the clear roads of Provence, and of course the sunshine of the South of France.
2002's GLME event was on the mountain roads of Switzerland: GLME 2002 - Les Diablerets
The orange CBR600 and I have been across the Channel several times each year and down to the Mediterranean once. Furthest North so far is York in the UK and furthest east has been the Sieg valley to the East of Köln, Cologne in Germany.
