It’s very tempting to make political metaphors along the lines of democracy under wraps (the Houses of Parliament - Palace of Westminster) or London democracy has become a tourist attraction (City Hall) or the man on the Clapham Omnibus (the figure of speech representing the ordinary voter) doesn’t go out any more on the line of almost-empty London buses.
