Cygnets, baby coots, rowers, canoeists and even the Thames Clipper out on the water around Putney and Wimbledon
Wimbledon Common is known for its families on a bank holiday day out: Mummy and Daddy and the squawking kids... however these parents are teaching the kids to beg from the water at an early age. Cuteness means food.
This year’s waterfowl are hatching now, it’s a reasonable guess that there will be human baby boom in nine months’ time next January and February as a consequence of the lockdown.
Down Putney Hill at the River Thames, the sculls rowers, canoeists and even the Thames Clipper Service are back on the water as the London lockdown gets more flexible still. It’ll be a while before we see a the magnicent sight of a rowing Eight again though.
