On the rowing ergometer

Bad weather around Madeira cancelled my flight to Funchal today. I’d been looking forward to enjoying a post-flight relaxation run amongst the sub-tropical gardens at the Lido there. Instead, a morning still at Heathrow Terminal 5 sorting out the refunds.

Air traffic maps for Funchal airport showed several flights trying to land but turning back, then a string of flight cancellations. Carnival events have been cancelled too.
Half an hour of intervals on my rower back home isn’t the same as a run looking out over the south North Atlantic but felt good for the frustrations as well as the fitness.
All in all a disappointment but not a huge surprise - I’ve been stranded or delayed before on flights to/from islands.
