Bardonecchia hosted the snowboarding and some other events for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics, the main accommodation was the stylish building which is now a ski school with 300 rooms. The original building, Colonia Medail, is a significant example of Rationalist architecture designed by Gino Levi Montalcini in the 1930s.
