Sorted, fit. Current activities are photography, hiking, motorbiking, trail biking, music, geology/geoscience, dinner-at-home, travel and more.

Here's a picture of St Andrews church near where I live. The demolition crew have moved in: the building to the left of the tower will be demolished and replaced with a modern block of flats. The new building will be as high as the church roof to the left of the tower but will occupy the site currently occupied by the vestry building; so much more intrusive to the road space. So much for listed building status and a conservation area if you believe you have God on your side!

I’m John and I’m based in Hammersmith, West London.

I ride a red CBR600RR and a tangerine/grey CBR600FW. Not quite Kamikaze style but they're a sports bikes and fuel economy is not a priority! I don’t often get passed on Euston Road or any reasonable road. Riding a real motorbike on real roads beats any computer game or simulation and you only have one life. Seeking the line through traffic or on the open road is just great fun.

August 2005: GLME Bike Camp at Limeuil, France

August 2004: GLME Bike Camp at Pomerance, Italy

May 2004: A great ride over some cols of the French Alps with AMA

September 2003: Five-day European bike ride to the Vercors (SE France).

May 2003: celebrated twenty-five years safe biking with a bike run with mates to the West Country including Devon's Black Cat run route and some splendid biking on Exmoor, Dartmoor and the North Devon and North Cornwall Coast: I’ve held a full UK motorbike licence since 1978 and been riding safely since 1977.

Ride the bike all weathers with the right gear although no longer so keen on cold wet winter night riding or ice and snow. Belgian autoroutes in torrential rain have also lost their appeal!

Am a member of GBMCC and the French club AMA whose local roads are the mountains of the Alps and the clear roads of Provence, and of course the sunshine of the South of France.

2002's GLME event was on the mountain roads of Switzerland: GLME 2002 - Les Diablerets

I live in London W14 which is "Hammersmith & Fulham"; Barons Court on the Piccadilly and District LInes, is my nearest station on the tube map.

I'm English and my cultural preference is for Europe rather than northern England; the languages don't worry me and transport from London across the Channel can be quicker and cheaper.

I have a long-term best-mate, who lives in Brighton with his cute but very demanding teddy-bear Ursus Bear: Mi Home Page (page now working again after many requests)

Here's my new web site - it's based on a blogging software platform so looks and feels completely different to the previous ones I've done. I've moved the menus to the left which I hope gets rid of the problems some of you have reported. I'd be interested to know what you think of it now.

If you adjust the width of the window in your browser the page will reformat to suit.

You can see more content and rate stories if you log in to the site - if you don't have a log in then you can join using the box on the left.

There's an email address to go with this websitesee the link on the About JohnH page or if you want to contact me please contact via existing ways.
